One of my favorite verses in the bible is Ecc. 9:10, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead (grave) where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Every time I get a new bible I go there first, and I highlight it. When someone asks me my favorite verse, this is the one that I quote first. I love what Solomon wrote here. First, I love that he used the words or phrase long before Nike did – DO IT! Whatever your hand finds to do – DO IT! God was way ahead of the marketing game. But think about it, what a life verse to live by. He’s not saying that we win in the game, that we outshine someone else in life, that we have to be first, NO! He says that whatever your hand finds to do, whatever you are asked to do, whatever your job is, your game, etc. God says do it with all you’ve got. He created us to glorify Him and to glorify Him we must give all we’ve got in everything we do. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. No letting up, no giving in, no trying halfway. Today pray about your purpose in life and then go at that purpose with all you’ve got. It’s not winning those counts, it’s knowing with all your heart that you gave all you had to glorify God in that job, game, loving your spouse or family. Do it!
DO IT!
