I didn’t get to be at this height without genetic help – 5’8”! (My mother was a very short lady.) As a child learning to play sports, I was always the smallest kid in sports and in class, so I spent a lot of time coming home and making the statement that I was going to quit! Those were fighting words to my mom. She would then go into a tirade about how winners never quit, and quitters never win. And you know what, she was right! I know that at many times, we all have faced the emotions and situations that we have said in our minds and hearts that we want to quit. Too often we face attack after attack from Satan and finally we begin to believe that quitting the fight would be better. Satan has no intention of quitting just because we say we’ll quit. He will continue to attack and attack. We may want to give up and stop living for God, because we just want the attacks to stop. Satan gets us to believe that looking to the things of this earth will bring us fulfillment, happiness and make the attacks stop. These situations make us feel like we have absolutely no defense against Satan but let me say this: these times in your life may certainly be challenging and they are certainly difficult, but you can overcome. “All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and mor glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed everyday.” 2 Cor. 4:15-16.  Don’t give up! Today as you pray, pray for the strength and courage to face one more day, one more challenge and God will give you the strength to get it done.
