Let’s pray for someone who needs Jesus today. As of today, we are just 6 weeks away from people celebrating Easter at their church. So, I want to challenge you today to invite at least 5 people to your services. (Of course, you could ask them to come this Sunday, but for Easter it’s an easy invite, because people are seeing advertisements about Easter and chocolate bunnies, etc. So, you can invite with courage that they know it’s coming, and your church is going to do something special for that weekend.) Just think about your church – are you all getting ready for a great weekend, just like you’d prepare your house if you knew that the Mayor of your town was coming to eat dinner with you and just talk about your interest and hobbies? I know what it’s like around our house every Wednesday when the life group people are coming over for the evening. We clean, get everything in the right place, light the candles, put out the dog and cats, set out the refreshments, etc. all because our friends are coming over to pray together. Well, what about having that same attitude about our church, the greeting of people coming in, the looks and smells, everything that would want people to remember and feel like coming back to. Well, we can do all of that, but today I want you to start planning on the people that you want to invite. Pray for them everyday, even after you invite them. Oh, and you can invite more than just five, but let’s start there first. Let’s pray for people that are weary and broken because this world has lied to them. Pray for the single mom trying to work and keep the family afloat, she needs a network of other mothers and families to support her, pray for her to come to your church and hear and see the message of Jesus this year. Let’s pray for the lost!
