It’s 7:14, time to pray and get into the Word! Our second pillar of a strong church has got to be a commitment to the Word of God. Again, along with prayer it just seems logical that this would be either #1 or #2. But I’m afraid, we all may agree with it, but we do nothing about it in our everyday lives. Have you all ready this morning set aside a time that you’ve read in the word of God? Why not? If your first breath of the day depended upon you taking a pill with 30 minutes of the time that you opened in your eyes in the morning, what would your wake-up routine be? Would you waste time checking your social media pages? Would you go through all of them to see what other people were writing about while you were asleep? Would you worry more about picking out your clothes for the day or would you make sure that the first thing you did was go to your medicine cabinet get out the drug that was going to sustain your life for the day and get it taken, then move to making coffee, checking out your clothes for the day and seeing what happened on your news feed? Well, the Word of God is that pill for your life. You can make it through the day without it, you can even move it to a later time in the day where you are more than likely to have something interrupt it or just forget it because you are so busy with your life and work. You see, for us as individuals to make it through life, we can forgo the passion and scheduling of reading and meditating about the world of God, but life would be so much better if we started our day out, with a commitment to let the Word of God filter into our hearts and minds first, before we let the world and all the “fake news,” worries that we aren’t enough with all of our friends, and the lies of Satan telling us that we are so far behind others that we need to get out there and get to moving to catch up and get a head. The Word of God is God’s word speaking to us. He inspired them, He breathed them into the authors of the Bible for our benefit of living this life to our best and fullest. Today, we’ve got to get into the routine and the habit of finding a time to get away from the world and get into a time of reading what God has for us today and asking Him to strengthen us for the day. It’s a war out there for your mind, let’s get our mind set on the right things, the things from God so that we can win the battle. READ THE WORD – THIS MORNING! NOW IF YOU HAVE TOO!
