Overcoming Sin

Yesterday I encouraged us to refocus our minds when we are tempted. Another thing we need to do is find someone or an accountability group that we can acknowledge our struggles to. To many of us have bought the lie of Satan that we can deal with our struggles, sins, addictions etc on our own. My friends, let me be truthful with you just for a second – that’s a lie from Satan. All that he wants us to do is stay in this good intention mode of dealing with our temptations.

Ecc. 4:9-10, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”

Trying to deal with my temptation alone, is just not going to work. We need each other to help fight against the attacks of our temptations. Don’t hide your hurt! That will only intensify it.

If you know of someone that is struggling, why not help them out by letting them know you would like to be a part of a team of people to help them deal with their struggles. And if you are struggling, which I believe we all are – get in the group to help deal with the temptations that Satan sends our way. Let’s begin to pray for a community of people to listen to us and help us overcome sin.
