That One Lost Person!

With all that is going on in the world, starting today and every day we need to take a close look at our hearts to see if we are truly living out what Jesus has called us to do as disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ last command was to tell us our mission: “Go into the world and make disciples of all nations…” Matt. 28:19. Can I ask us a question and let’s be real honest, God does know what the answer is even if we don’t tell the truth or even stretch or lie! Are you truly living today to go and make a disciple of anyone? Start with our families, as believers we have an obligation to our children to introduce them to Jesus. (Right now, let me encourage you, it’s not too late to start. Yes, you may have to do some apologizing to your children, but it’s never too late to begin sharing with them so that you can explain to them what Jesus means to you today.) What about one person that you know that is not a believer and don’t make excuses for them. Because they say they believe in God, doesn’t mean that they are a fellow disciple of Jesus. (I know right now you are wondering how judgmental I can be, but please we are talking about life and death here.) Jesus gave us a command to go and make disciples, and we must be about the work as long as we can. So, right now, write down a person that you want to come to Jesus. Start praying, planning on talking to them, finding out more and more about their lives and believe that the Holy Spirit will open a door for you to talk to them about Jesus and his work of salvation for all people. Writing their name down is a good exercise, put it in your car so you see it, carry that name with you to work, put it on your desk, put it on your bathroom mirror, put it so that all day long you see it and are reminded to pray to God to move in your heart and their heart to hear the good news about Jesus. Have you named them yet? Good, let’s start praying.
