God Is With Us

If you are reading through the bible with me, Sunday we read from Ps. 16. (If you aren’t reading with us, open your bible right now or the bible app on your phone and give it a read.) David is testifying to God that He is his refuge when he is in time of need. “The godly people in the land are my true heroes!” Vs. 3. One of the greatest heroes of the bible, had heroes and they may not seem like the heroes you or I thought he had, they are the people that are striving to be righteous before God. Not the richest, or the one that owns the most stuff, or is a celebrity, but the man or woman that is striving to please God by the way they are obeying His commands and living out his example to all those around them. And then, he shares something with us that is so important to remember in today’s world. Important to remember when we are facing difficulties that are making us fell all alone: “I know the Lord is ALWAYS with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.” Vs. 8-9. David tells us that the secret to a joyful heart is to realize and live with the assurance that God is with us, no matter what is going on. No, matter what the world is doing to us, no matter what the lies of Satan are – God is with us – ALWAYS! Today, we can make it, we can overcome, not by our power, but by our faith that the Holy Spirit is right here with us, walking us through the valley of death, helping
