Stop Playing It Safe

It’s 7:14, time to pray. SATAN IS A LIAR! Yes, I’m shouting at you – SATAN IS A LIAR! It’s his nature, it’s who he is, it’s all he can do. On the other hand, GOD IS LOVE! (I figured I’d shout that out at you too.) For every bit of evil that Satan is, God is the direct opposite. God is love, and he loves you so much that he would do anything to show you that love. He gave his one and only son to prove it. But Satan is liar and we let him do it. Maybe someone wasn’t strong enough in saying it to you – SATAN IS A LIAR! Not only is he a liar, he is a destroyer and hater of all of God’s creation. Okay, not that I’ve tried hard to get that point across, I can move on. Satan has lied to the church/individuals that we shouldn’t do anything that rocks the boat of life. We should play it safe and not upset anyone. (A small part of yesterday’s sermon.) The Kingdom of God is a force that Satan knows he can’t destroy, he can’t stand up against it. He has no attack against it that can take it down. With that in mind, let me encourage us all – I need this as much as anyone that reads this. We have not been called to live a life of safety. Jesus didn’t die so that we could run and hide from Satan. The world is lost, and we must be the dangerous people that we see in the book of Acts. Our Christian ancestors that would march into hell to share the message of Jesus with anyone. Our ancestors that were persecuted and even killed for their faith. Jesus’ promise is that the kingdom of God is a kingdom that will bring peace, love, security, and power to all who accept it. We have the answer, but are we living the answer? We have the greatest message that the world has ever heard or seen. A quote from Mark Batterson: “Faithfulness is not holding the fort; it’s storming the gates of hell.” Today, pray for a storm troopers heart and let’s change our world.
