I Am Not Alone!

Satan uses the anxieties and worries of our lives to lie to us and to tell us that we are alone in our struggles. Have you not ever cried out to God asking Him where he was? Sure you have, go ahead, we can all admit that much. (It’s the first step in recovery over feeling alone.) Satan is the master of liars and he is shrewd with what he says, how he says it, and especially when he says it. He gets us when we have heard news of our health, or the health of a loved one, when we realize we have no money to pay the bills, or when someone is against us and we feel like we have no answers to those struggles, Satan begins whispering in our ears that we are all alone. No one cares, no one can see my struggles and most of all God has left me and doesn’t care about what is going on. A lady was once caught in an elevator which had stopped between floors. Everyone scrambled to get her out. The manager of the building was able to call the elevator and she answered, chipper and kind of laughing. The man asked her if she were all alone and her quick reply was, “No, not alone.” He then assured her that they were working to get them out and please remain calm. Within the hour they were able to get the elevator fixed and it suddenly lurched on up to the floor it was intended to go to. When the door of the elevator opened everyone waiting for the people were shocked with only the lady with a big smile on her face emerged from the elevator. The manager even took a look inside the elevator to make sure that no one else was on the elevator. The man looked at her and asked with a questioning voice, “Lady, you said that you were not alone.” “No,” she replied calmly, “I wasn’t alone. God was with me the entire time.” She knew the secret of how to overcome anxiety, worry and especially struggles that she had no control over. She was not alone! We need to repeat over and over today that, “We are not alone.” In Isaiah 41:10, it says: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” WOW! God is with us. Satan is lying when you tells us otherwise. God has not left us to the circumstances of our health, our family struggles, life with all of its hard times that are totally out of our control. God is right there with you. Maybe today – at least 25 times, stop and say to yourself as a declaration and a statement to Satan to leave you alone: I AM NOT ALONE! GOD IS RIGHT HERE WITH ME!
